Planning an Event

In-Person Event Proposal

The COM reopening committee has already approved several requests for in-person activities from student organizations, and we hope to receive more requests for events that would be better conducted in person than online. The process for your organization to request an activity is as follows

1.       Complete Request Template

2.       Secure letter of approval for organization faculty Advisor.

3.       Submit request template and approval email to comccer@uic.edu

Following proper protocol, students are still welcome to reserve a classroom with Curricular Affairs Office Manager Mary Cronin (mcronin@uic.edu).

Advertising Your Events

Add the event to the CMSC Calendar (check for conflicts and try to avoid days that other organizations are already hosting events).
If your student group is interested in posting content to the CMWT and COMRB public corridor monitors, you can submit the content to comevents@uic.edu. When submitting, please copy the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Mark Urosev (urosev@uic.edu) for approval.  Typically flyers are submitted in the form of a Powerpoint (PPT) slide or PDF, typically in a wide format. Please include the runtime (date range) for which you would like the flyer to be displayed. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to CMSC’s Webmaster.
